Our grow kits contain a fully colonised mushroom grow block. To start the growing process, simply:
open the tab on the front of the box
cut an ‘x’ into the grow bag
spray with water daily
Expect your 1st harvest of mushrooms within 3-4 weeks of starting your grow kit! After you’ve harvested your mushrooms, the process can begin again for 2-3 harvests overall.
For best results, we recommend starting your grow kit within 4 weeks. Store the grow kit in a cold, dark place until you start it.
-
Our kits contain a high yielding mix of hardwood pellets and soy hulls to produce the finest mushrooms.
They are sterilised in small batches to ensure high quality control and a constant turn over of fresh blocks.
All of our mushroom grow kits are made by us, on our family farm in Wiltshire.
-
We guarantee that our grow kits will produce at least 1 flush of Lion’s Mane, providing that the grow kit instructions have been followed sufficiently.
If your grow kit fails to produce mushrooms after following our instructions, please get in touch and we will replace it.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Start your mushroom grow kit as soon as possible by pulling off the front tab and cutting an ‘x’ into the grow bag.
The grow kit should be placed inside, somewhere you will see it often and where it won’t be exposed to heat or direct sunlight. We recommend a kitchen counter top, windowsill (facing inwards) or similar.
Spray the growing area with water daily. You don’t want to soak the area, you just want to keep the area damp so the mushrooms can thrive.
After about two weeks, you will start to see baby Lion’s Mane mushroom! Keep misting them and enjoy watching them grow!
-
Most of our Lion’s Mane kits begin producing mushrooms within 10–14 days after opening. The exact timing depends on temperature, humidity and growing conditions, but Lion's Mane is generally ready to harvest around 7–14 days after the first small clusters appear.
-
The optimum time to harvest your Lion’s Mane is when the spines are still short (only a few millimeters).
Simply pull the whole cluster off of the grow block by gripping and twisting at the base. You can also cut the whole cluster off.
-
Once you have harvested your mushrooms, remove any remaining baby mushrooms from the growing area and begin misting again.
It will take slightly longer for the mushrooms to start growing than the 1st time while the block re-sets.
-
Most of our Lion's Mane Grow Kits produce two or three flushes of mushrooms. The first harvest is usually the largest, while later flushes may be smaller. Keeping the kit well hydrated will help to maximise your harvest.
-
Lion's Mane grows best between 16°C and 22°C. Avoid placing the kit near radiators, direct sunlight or cold draughts, as sudden temperature changes can affect growth. We generally find that Lion’s Mane is happier to grow in colder temperatures, they just grow much slower!
-
Absolutely. No previous experience is needed. The kit arrives fully colonised and contains everything required to grow fresh Lion's Mane mushrooms at home.
-
If you don't see any growth after two weeks, check that the kit is being kept at the correct temperature, is receiving indirect light and is being misted regularly.
Sometimes Lion's Mane simply needs a little longer to begin fruiting. If you're still having problems after 3 weeks of starting the kit, contact us and we'll be happy to help.
